The Weaver

During Sunday tea, Des and Chris were trying hard to recall this poem about God weaving a tapestry.
Guys, I think the poem you were talking about, is the one below:

My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me
I cannot choose the colours
He works so steadily

Oft' times He weaves in sorrow
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper
And I, the underside

The dark threads are as needed
In the weaver's skilful hand
As the thread of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned

Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why

Hey, so you're home at last ! I like this poem too, which as old favourite - find it very meaningful. Glad you enjoyed the service at The Rock - was gonna ask you for Christmas service at St Andrew's cathedral, so you can experience the more traditional style, but I probably won't be back at Christmas, so can't be there with you. I will miss going for the Watchnight service on New Year's Eve as well - something I'd recommend as I have found that very meaningful as we enter a new year.
I remember those old hymns we used to sing with fond memories too - good thing is that the church I am currently attending now has both modern day worship songs as well as the traditional hymns so I get the best of both. :-)
Well, I am kinda busy now trying to get my presentation together ( due on 26 Nov ) but will try to update my blog soon. Hope you enjoyed reading it !
